Make your own paper notebooks using recycled paper and common tools and materials you probably have around the house.

Here are three simple versions you can make!

    Rescued Paper Notebook

This simple notebook can be made with just paper, ruler, basic cutting tools, and a stapler! This is a great introductory project where you'll learn about paper grain and basic bookbinding techniques.

    Rubber Band Bookbinding

In this version, you'll use similar techniques as the first notebook above, but with the addition of a thin cardboard cover. However, this version takes an alternate approach to binding and uses rubber bands. Try it out!

    Field Notebook

This notebook is slightly more advanced and uses a needle and thread to bind the pages and cover together using a simple, but classic technique, although still with everyday common supplies you'll likely already have at home.

The three simple bookbinding projects above are a great introduction to the hobby of homemade, DIY bookbinding.

When you're ready for a more challenging bookbinding project, be sure to check out the Books & Journals section in the Craft category on Instructables:
