What’s your favorite feature in the Tinkercad Editor?  I love how simple it is to use for a first time 3D designer. I am a middle school librarian, and I routinely help students create accounts so they can begin designing. Right now, I love the teacher accounts, so I can keep track of my students (I do have some recommendations to update it, though).

Why are you a TinkerStar? I am a middle school STEAM librarian in a public school about 39 minutes north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My students are in 5th and 6th grade (10 - 12 year olds).

This year fidget spinners are all the rage in schools across America. Many schools are banning the devices, but my philosophy is, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" On my school website, I created some how-to videos for my students to get started in Tinkercad. I also created some videos on how to create their own fidget spinner! My policy has always been if a student makes something from scratch in Tinkercad, I'll print it on our school 3D printer. Now the wait list is so long, I'm not sure if I'll have time to print everything before the school year ends!!

What are some of your favorite models that you’ve designed with Tinkercad?

    Pittsburgh Penguins cookie cutter

    3D Design Cookie Cutter

Trophy for my son's Odyssey of the Mind team

    3D Design Trophy

Tri-Hex Fidget Spinner  (Check out more fidget spinners here)

    3D design fidget spinner

Washable Marker Holder for LEGO Robot

Anything else you’d like us to know? Thank you for keeping Tinkercad as one of your collection of Autodesk tools for design. It is a great tool for beginners, and makes 3D design less threatening for learning something new for the first time.

    Thanks Eric!
