MozFest Madness, aCADemy + much more!

Its been a busy few weeks at the Tinkercad office in San Francisco (yes, we relocated!). From setting up our new Macs to our MakerBot and MozFest, we are looking forward to a little R&R this weekend. Awwwww heck! Who are we kidding? We love it, and we want more of it!

LONDON, we’re back! This time it was for MozFest 2012. An exciting and intimate gathering of folks who are making and creating with Mozilla. A good time was had by all, including Pekka, our tech artist, who represented the Tinkercad Team.

Our friends at mcor technologies hooked us up with these beautiful prints designed by Arian.

aCADemy. Don’t forget to submit your application to participate in our academic initiative! Deadline is Friday, December 7, 2012, but if you’re one of the first 1,000 applicants, we will waive your $75.00 app fee. This is a great opp to get Tinkercad into your academic institution for the 2012/2013 school year. Help us make this a successful initiative by sharing this with your fellow educators and tech lovers!

Switzerland, anyone? Tinkercad advocate, Jochen, runs some pretty neat 3D printing workshops designed for newbies. The only downside? They’re in Switzerland. If you’ve ever needed a good reason to travel to this beautiful country, well, here it is. Jochen’s workshops provide an introduction to 3D printing from conception all the way to an actual 3D print. He covers browser-based 3d modeling tools, which includes Tinkercad. Attendees get the chance to design a model on their own, and at the end of the workshop one of them is chosen to be printed.

  1. It was such a pleasure to have TinkerCAD at Mozfest. Pekka brought a level of professionalism, style and knowledge that really benefited the participants. He made gorgeous designs and helped others to realize their own models. ❤ having you in London!

  2. Switzerland a downside? Bloody not! There is enough space for 3D-Printing; beside chocolate, army knifes and tax noncompliance 😉 BTW: Jochen does a really good Job. 🙂
