We wanted to streamline the look and feel of the editor to provide you with better organization of all the current and upcoming awesome features! Yes, features as in more than one!
Menus now organize commands that are not used very often (such as downloading a model), and commands that are most often used via keyboard shortcuts (for example copy and paste).
The new “Inspector” gathers all the things you can tweak for each shape into one place, including the parameters for new Script Shapes. Since grouping is such an important part of Tinkercad we wanted to give it a good emphasis in the toolbar.
We’re hoping you like the recent changes! As always, let us know your thoughts.
Tinkercad Team

can’t wait to try them out!
I use a very small screen for tinkercad. Unfortunately my big laptop
does not support webGL ao i have to use a netbook for modeling with
Tinkercad. the copy/paste etc being moved to the drop downs is a HUGE
help for me. I was constantly having the buttons interfere.
One suggestion, please give the ability to minimize the inspector. It is often in the way as well.
I like the functionality, but let me hide it when I dont want it.
I don’t mind if it defaults to display on each session so the folks that are new don’t loose it
but if i can hide it it would be helpful.
Once again thanks for the change on the buttons. Makes modeling easier for us with
netbooks!!!
Awesome! One thing I would love to see: ability to have a “dimensions”: x, y & z slider + keyboard input for all objects, the same way shape scripts have “parameters”
I spend a lot of time trying to get the exact height, when I would love to simply enter it with my keyboard.
Best,
Brian
And now that I play more with Tinkercad tonight, a “coordinates” x,y,z input would be nice as well, hehe. Love Tinkercad! Really enjoying the changes.
You can already adjust an objects dimensions directly. Press “R” (ruler) and place a ruler on your workplane. Now you have X,Y,Z global coordinates and also all the dimensions of your current object, or group of objects. When you mouse over a number it will turn red, click on the red text it to edit the dimenions or coordinates directly.
Awesome, thanks for the heads up Fork
A bit unintuitive, but it works!
Can y’all swap out the old torus selection with one parametrically tweakable torus? just needs to be one shape with two diameter options
Changing all the shapes is on our shortlist of things to do. We have some things slightly higher in the priority list that will come out in the next few days. Stay tuned!
Did this update increase the triangle count perchance???
Hahaa. This update did not increase the triangle count it only affected the editor UI. *However*, there is a separate Gen6 kernel change that has been making its way through our release pipeline that should become public any day now. Fingers crossed that one will help.
